Anais Gallagher Says Noel Pays Her Rent
Ms Anais Gallagher has given a rare insight into life as the daughter of Oasis musician Noel Gallagher, saying she has been in therapy since she was 13 and revealing her father pays her rent while she lives what her mother described as a largely normal life.
In a joint interview with Ms Meg Matthews, Matthews said Anais “has been in therapy since she was 13” and called it “the best thing that me and her dad could have done for her”, The Mirror reported.
Anais, 26, told the newspaper her parents did not hide their past and said Noel stopped taking drugs before she was born, adding: “He was always a really great girl-dad. I was obsessed with One Direction and he made sure I got tickets.” She also said she and her father share similar traits, describing herself as “a bit standoffish” and “guarded.”
Matthews also addressed the wider Gallagher family dynamic, saying Anais gets on with Noel and “her Uncle Liam” and that the cousins are friends, adding they decided early on that their fathers’ arguing would not affect their relationships with each other, following years of public tension between the brothers.
In the same interview, Matthews said Anais lives “in a not-very-glamorous place next to a railway track” and that “her dad pays her rent” but she does not receive an allowance, comments that come as interest in the band continues after reports of an Oasis reunion project for Disney.
