Princess Eugenie ‘left Andrew out’ of pregnancy news, report claims
Princess Eugenie has reportedly kept her third pregnancy news at arm’s length from her father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, with a new report claiming she did not tell him directly and instead left it to Sarah Ferguson to share the update.
Wonderwall reported that the pregnancy news was allegedly passed to Andrew via a phone call from his ex-wife, rather than from Eugenie herself, citing claims attributed to a source speaking to the Daily Mail.
The same report said a cold shoulder would reflect how Andrew’s controversies have affected his relationship with his youngest daughter. It also quoted a source claiming Andrew “only took a real interest” in Eugenie’s 2018 wedding when he wanted “to take center stage”, comparing it to the scale of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s ceremony earlier that year.
According to the account, King Charles III was approached differently, with Eugenie and her husband, Mr Jack Brooksbank, said to have shared the news with the King via an Easter card and letter. The source claimed the couple were “quite surprised” by what was described as a warm response from the Palace.
The report follows wider scrutiny of how Andrew’s standing has changed inside the family, a subject previously examined in Britpop News coverage of Princess Eugenie’s baby news and what it could mean for Prince Andrew.
