Maren Morris Says ‘Spam Text’ Invited Her to Swift-Kelce Wedding
Singer-songwriter Ms Maren Morris has said she received what appeared to be a fake text message inviting her to the wedding of Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce, prompting her to block the number while questioning how the sender obtained her phone details.
In a clip from her SiriusXM appearance, Page Six reported that Morris told hosts she got a “spam text” a couple of weeks earlier saying she was invited to “Taylor [Swift] and Travis [Kelce’s] wedding”, adding: “I’m blocking this, because, like, there’s no way they would send an invitation through a text like this.”
Morris said she was left confused about why the message was sent to her personal number, telling the presenters: “This is weird,” as they joked about the possibility she had discarded a genuine invitation.
The report said Page Six previously claimed save-the-dates had been sent out for the couple, and that invitations indicated plans to marry in New York City on July 3. It also referenced earlier reports that the pair had considered Rhode Island for their wedding, before later discussions about changing the plan.
Swift and Kelce, who have faced intense public scrutiny since their relationship became public, have not commented on Morris’s account. The episode adds to the volume of online speculation around the couple’s private arrangements as the summer date approaches.
