Hailey Bieber Says She Set Up Billie Eilish Coachella Moment
Ms. Hailey Bieber has said she was behind the surprise moment that saw Billie Eilish join Justin Bieber on stage during his headlining set at Coachella 2026, describing the appearance as a “full circle” meeting for the pair. She spoke about the plan while attending the Time100 Gala in New York on Thursday, April 23.
At the event, Time reported that Ms. Bieber said it was her idea to get Ms. Eilish on stage with Justin Bieber during his April 18 Coachella set, adding that she had been thinking about it “for months” and kept it a surprise until the moment it happened.
Ms. Bieber told the outlet that she and Justin Bieber “love Billie so much” and said she thought the collaboration would feel especially meaningful because Ms. Eilish first met the singer at Coachella in 2019 while watching Ariana Grande perform. She said the on-stage appearance was intended to echo that early encounter and bring their connection back to the festival where it began.
The appearance also came amid heightened attention on Ms. Bieber’s public profile, including a recent style moment when she turned heads in an outfit alongside Justin Bieber at a separate outing.
In the days after the Coachella performance, Ms. Eilish shared throwback photos and videos from her teenage fandom, underlining how significant the on-stage moment felt to her. The surprise duet added another headline Coachella crossover to this year’s festival, and it remains one of the weekend’s most talked-about celebrity cameos.
