Kate backs Prince William amid Andrew crisis
Catherine, Princess of Wales, has been described as a key source of support for Prince William as the royal couple approach their 15th wedding anniversary and continue public duties during renewed scrutiny surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The Daily Record reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales issued a statement via a spokesperson on 19 February saying they had been “deeply concerned by the continuing revelations” and that their thoughts “remain focused on the victims”.
In the same report, royal broadcaster and author Ms Katie Nicholl said the couple’s “relationship rooted in a firm friendship” has helped them cope with family pressures, while royal expert Mr Duncan Larcombe said Prince William is “stepping up to effectively be number two in the family” and that King Charles “trusts and values his opinion”.
The article also said insiders view the Princess’s priority as supporting her husband privately, and it follows earlier Britpop News reporting that the Princess of Wales has set boundaries over Prince Andrew as the situation continues to unfold.
The couple have maintained a full schedule of engagements in recent weeks, with the report noting their appearances at the Commonwealth Day service and subsequent public events as they seek to project stability while preparing for the responsibilities expected of them in the years ahead.
