King Charles ‘May Never Speak’ to Andrew
King Charles is said to be increasingly estranged from his younger brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, with a new report claiming the monarch may “never speak again” to the former working royal. The claims centre on the King’s apparent lack of contact since Andrew’s move to Sandringham and come amid continued scrutiny surrounding Andrew’s legal situation and standing within the Royal Family.
Hello Magazine reported that the King has not visited Andrew in Sandringham, despite Princess Anne and Prince Edward reportedly reaching out, and that sources told the Daily Mail it would take an “enormous shift” for the brothers even to be in the same room.
The report also alleges that Charles and Andrew were “never” close, even before public controversy about Andrew’s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. It adds that the King stripped Andrew of his remaining titles last October and ordered him to leave Royal Lodge in Windsor, signalling a decisive break between them.
The alleged rupture follows wider developments in Andrew’s standing overseas, including moves in New Zealand to remove Prince Andrew’s honours as calls continue for institutions to reassess links to the Duke of York.
HELLO! also quoted associates and authors who argued the relationship is “broken beyond repair” and that Andrew is unlikely to be seen publicly alongside the King again, including at Christmas gatherings. Any further public contact between the brothers now appears dependent on significant changes in circumstances, with the Palace continuing to keep Andrew outside the working royal fold.
