David Beckham Surprises Clarkson With Birthday Cake
David Beckham marked Jeremy Clarkson’s 66th birthday with a surprise cake during an outing in Miami, as the former England captain attended an Inter Miami match alongside the broadcaster.
The Standard reported that Beckham presented Clarkson with a cake at Inter Miami’s Freedom Park Stadium as the club played the New York Red Bulls, with Clarkson later sharing a photograph on Instagram and writing: “A man I met at a football match in Miami gave me a birthday cake. So kind.”
The report said Beckham was joined at the match by his wife Victoria and sons Romeo and Cruz, with the game finishing in a 2-2 draw. It also noted that Beckham and Clarkson, despite being an unlikely pairing, are neighbours in the Cotswolds, with Clarkson’s Diddly Squat farm located near the Beckham family home.
Beckham’s public appearance came amid renewed attention on the Beckham family after eldest son Brooklyn Beckham posted a message to wife Ms Nicola Peltz Beckham to mark their fourth wedding anniversary, reflecting on challenges they have faced together. Separate reporting has also focused on Beckham’s role in the sport’s growth, including how he was credited for helping drive MLS’s rise in the US.
Neither Beckham nor Clarkson made further public comment beyond the social media post referenced in the report. The moment offered a lighter note around Beckham’s match-day duties in Miami, while wider interest continues to swirl around the Beckham family’s recent headlines.
