Gavin Rossdale recalls pool day with Britney Spears
Mr Gavin Rossdale has described Britney Spears as a “lovely” former neighbour, recalling a pool day they shared while living next door to each other in Los Angeles in the mid-2000s. The Bush frontman revisited the anecdote during a new interview, after Spears previously mentioned the swim years ago.
Speaking on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, Rossdale said Spears “was lovely” and “amazing”, and added that she was “a great swimmer”, Page Six reported.
During the same conversation, Rossdale was asked whether his sons with Ms Gwen Stefani — Kingston, Zuma and Apollo — ever played with Spears’ sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. Rossdale quipped that he was “too busy chatting with Britney”, according to the report.
Spears first publicly referenced the pool day during a 2015 appearance on Australia’s The Project, saying she had once swum with Stefani’s husband when the pair were neighbours. Page Six said Rossdale and Spears were seemingly living near one another around 2007 in The Summit, a gated Beverly Hills community, with Rossdale still married to Stefani at the time.
Rossdale has continued to speak warmly about Spears in recent years, including reposting a 2021 Instagram video in which she danced to Bush’s “Glycerine” and repeated the swimming story. The latest remarks add another small, personal detail to long-running public fascination with Spears’ life away from the spotlight.
