Prince Andrew Moves Into Sandringham’s Marsh Farm
Prince Andrew has reportedly moved into Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate after staying at Wood Farm while work was carried out on the new property. The relocation, said to have taken place on Monday, has attracted fresh attention because the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were reportedly hoping to use Wood Farm for their traditional Easter break.
Daily Mail reported that the former Duke of York walked the roughly 20-minute route from Wood Farm to Marsh Farm with his dogs, as staff arrived ahead of him carrying bags into the five-bedroom house that has been undergoing renovations.
The report said Marsh Farm has had extensive upgrades, including new carpets, a Sky dish, fast broadband and a new security fence, with a mobile home also placed on the grounds for security staff. It added that hundreds of boxes, said to contain Prince Andrew’s belongings, were delivered to the property in recent weeks.
The move follows previous claims that he was “dragging his heels” over leaving Wood Farm, and the Daily Mail said the Edinburghs instead stayed at Gardens House on the estate during the holiday.
Buckingham Palace has not commented on the details of Prince Andrew’s living arrangements. However, the latest report underlines continuing scrutiny over where he is based and how security and refurbishment costs are handled as his position within royal life remains limited.
