King Charles Warns Prince Andrew Over Move Costs
King Charles has reportedly become increasingly frustrated with Prince Andrew as plans progress for the Duke of York to relocate following his eviction from Royal Lodge. The report says the King is keen to bring the situation to a close quickly and keep costs under control, amid claims Andrew has continued to press for additional work and expenses tied to his next home.
AOL reported that Radar Online claimed Andrew’s demands have “gotten on” the King’s nerves as he is said to be preparing to move to Marsh Farm on the Sandringham estate, while staying at Wood Farm nearby—an arrangement alleged to be causing issues because Charles wants the space available for guests.
According to the report, a palace source alleged Charles has warned Andrew he could be “banished” into a staff caravan if he continues to push for more, describing a “hardening attitude” that “enough is enough”. The story also claims Andrew wanted curtains moved from Royal Lodge and altered for the new property, with the King expected to cover the bill.
The report adds that moving and rehanging artwork by specialist firm Gander and White was said to have run into tens of thousands of pounds, with complications because some pieces may not fit. It also claims Marsh Farm still needs extensive work, including rewiring and plastering, and that concerns have been raised about asbestos. Previous BritpopNews reporting has also tracked the broader relocation claims, including that Prince Andrew was reportedly set to move into a Sandringham mobile home as pressure mounted for him to leave Royal Lodge.
The allegations underscore the continued sensitivity around royal spending and property arrangements, with the King’s reported focus on budgets colliding with scrutiny over how the Duke of York will be accommodated going forward.
