Epstein lawyer claims Prince Andrew met him again
Fresh scrutiny has been cast on Prince Andrew after a new video report said Jeffrey Epstein’s long-time lawyer told US investigators the Duke of York met the disgraced financier again before Epstein died in 2019. The claims emerged from testimony given in a closed-door deposition to the House Oversight Committee, according to an item published early Thursday.
The Economic Times reported that Mr Darren Indyke, described as Epstein’s longtime personal attorney, told the committee he had “no knowledge whatsoever” of Epstein’s crimes against women and girls, while the report also highlighted a claim that Prince Andrew met Epstein before the financier’s death.
The video item said Mr Indyke worked for Epstein for more than two decades and was considered part of his inner circle, while noting that Epstein’s longtime accountant Mr Richard Kahn also testified that he was “not aware” of Epstein’s crimes. The report listed other figures it said had been called before the committee, including former US President Bill Clinton and Ms Ghislaine Maxwell.
In the UK, the Duke’s association with Epstein has continued to generate legal and reputational fallout, and Britpop News has previously reported how the Prince Andrew case hinges on unredacted Epstein files amid renewed attention on what documents may show about the network around Epstein.
The latest account underscores how Congressional scrutiny of Epstein’s relationships and finances is still producing public claims years after his death, with any reference to Prince Andrew likely to intensify pressure on the royal to address questions about the nature and timing of their contact.
