Miley Cyrus jokes Alex Cooper is ‘creepy’ at premiere
Miley Cyrus ribbed podcast star Alex Cooper during the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” premiere in Hollywood, calling her “creepy” as she addressed fans outside the event.
Page Six reported that Ms Cyrus, 33, joked Cooper was a “superfan” and her neighbour, telling the crowd that Cooper “got money, and then she moved next door to me,” and teasing that the host pretended not to know where she lived despite having interviewed her at her home years earlier.
The remarks were made on Monday night at Sunset Gower Studios, where Cooper, 31, hosted the long-awaited Disney event. Cyrus also thanked Cooper for hosting and described her as “so insanely dedicated” to Hannah Montana, according to the report.
In an earlier interview, Cyrus credited Cooper with helping shape the anniversary special, saying she understood the fan experience in a way Cyrus could not. The singer has been revisiting the Hannah Montana era in recent weeks, after she signalled a return to the franchise for the 20th anniversary in Britpop News coverage.
Page Six said it had contacted Cooper’s representative for comment. The outlet also reported that Disney+ and Cyrus announced the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” on 17 February, and that some former cast members who were not able to attend posted tributes online on the night of the premiere.
