Prince William ‘Plans’ Andrew Funeral Exclusion
Prince William would not allow Prince Andrew to attend King Charles’s funeral “whenever that takes place”, according to an insider quote referenced in a new report that revisits the Duke of York’s continued exclusion from royal life.
LiveMint said LiveMint reported that a Cosmopolitan item quoted a courtier as saying the Prince of Wales wants to begin his future reign “clean” and that “public outrage would overshadow the service” if Andrew were present.
The report also claimed King Charles stripped Andrew of royal titles and honours in October 2025, and said the Duke was arrested on 19 February on suspicion of misconduct in public office before being released under investigation after 11 to 12 hours in custody. It added that documents released by the US Justice Department allegedly suggested Andrew shared confidential government information with Jeffrey Epstein while serving as a UK trade envoy, which Andrew denies.
LiveMint further reported that Andrew left Royal Lodge without compensation on 2 February and moved to Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate, while his permanent residence at Marsh Farm undergoes security work and Sarah, Duchess of York, is said to be living separately. Previous Britpop News coverage has tracked similar claims that Prince William reportedly bars Prince Andrew from family events amid efforts to minimise controversy around the royal household.
Any plans for official ceremonial arrangements remain hypothetical, but the reporting underscores how Andrew’s position within the family continues to be a point of sensitivity as the monarchy seeks to avoid fresh public controversy.
