Report claims Prince Andrew weighing ‘escape plan’ after alleged arrest
A new report has claimed Prince Andrew is considering an “escape plan” amid allegations he was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office connected to claims he shared confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein while working as a British trade envoy.
National Examiner reported via Yahoo that the 66-year-old former Duke of York was arrested on Thursday, February 19, and that he could face a maximum sentence of life imprisonment if charged and convicted.
The report quoted an unnamed source claiming Andrew had told associates he “won’t survive” a prison sentence, and alleged he was exploring countries without extradition treaties with the UK, naming Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Russia.
The claims come amid continuing scrutiny of Andrew’s past links to Epstein, with earlier Britpop News coverage noting that a photo from Epstein files appeared to show Prince Andrew with a young woman as the wider scandal continues to reverberate.
Buckingham Palace has not commented on the claims in the report, and no official UK police statement was included in the article. The allegations remain unproven, and Andrew has repeatedly denied wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.
