Kate Middleton says she has cut back on alcohol
Kate Middleton has spoken about changing her drinking habits since her cancer diagnosis, after she and Prince William visited the Bermondsey Beer Mile in east London on Thursday as part of a joint day of engagements in the capital.
During a stop at Fabal Beerhall, Kate declined the beer and cider on offer and opted for a soft drink, telling the venue’s owner that she has not had much alcohol since her diagnosis and has to be “a lot more conscious” now, Hello Magazine reported.
Prince William, meanwhile, sampled the drinks during the tasting and described himself as a “cider man”, while Kate still took part in the brewing activities, including climbing a ladder to stir hops at Southwark Brewing Company and joining a pint-pulling competition.
The outing was one of three Thames-linked engagements in London for the Prince and Princess of Wales, and followed a period in which Kate has spoken publicly about her health after being diagnosed with cancer in 2024 and later announcing she was in remission. The couple have previously been pictured enjoying wine at events and overseas tours, and Kate has also been seen tasting drinks on earlier official visits.
The appearance underlined how the Princess is approaching public duties alongside lifestyle changes as she continues her return to engagements, with William also highlighting in the past year how difficult the period has been for their family.
