Britney Spears’ Ex-Assistant Questions DUI Arrest Timing
Britney Spears’ former assistant Sean Phillip has publicly questioned the circumstances around the singer’s recent DUI arrest, saying he believes the timing is suspicious and raising concerns about how much control she has over her life following the end of her conservatorship.
In an interview, Phillip alleged that some people may be “out to get her” and argued that the incident came at a sensitive moment in her finances and autonomy, El-Balad.com reported.
Phillip, who said he has known Spears for more than 20 years, claimed he does not believe she is fully free and suggested a care plan remains in place that limits her access to money, while others may still have access to her financial resources.
The remarks come as Spears continues to face public scrutiny after the arrest, with previous reporting noting that her mugshot was withheld following the incident as the legal process moves forward.
According to the report, Spears was arrested by the California Highway Patrol in Ventura County at about 9.30pm on 4 March and released the following morning, and she is due back in court on 4 May.
