Meghan Markle shares As Ever message amid Andrew arrest
Meghan Markle has sent a message to followers promoting her As Ever lifestyle range on the same day Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested and later released under investigation, as the Royal Family faced intensifying scrutiny. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, did not comment directly on the police inquiry, instead circulating an email focused on “small rituals” and home comforts.
The email, sent on the day of the arrest, included the line: “When the temperature drops, we start by striking a match,” and continued with references to candlelight and seasonal routines, The Mirror reported.
The same report said Andrew, 66, was detained at around 8am at Sandringham on the morning of his birthday and that King Charles issued a statement backing police action and saying he had “the deepest concern” while insisting “the law must take its course”. The Mirror also reported that neither Prince Harry nor Meghan, who live in Montecito, California, had commented publicly on events in the UK.
The timing of the Duchess’s message comes as attention remains fixed on the wider royal fallout, with earlier Britpop News reporting how Meghan has been portrayed as ‘stronger alone’ amid renewed royal controversy in separate coverage.
Police have said searches linked to the inquiry are ongoing and that they will provide further updates at an appropriate time, with the investigation continuing to cast a shadow over the monarchy’s public schedule.
