Sky News panellist dismisses Meghan mentoring claim
Meghan Markle was criticised on Sky News during a discussion about claims she has offered support to Brooklyn Beckham amid his reported rift with the Beckham family, with one panellist arguing the Duchess of Sussex should not be positioned as a mentor.
Writer Ms Esther Krakue, appearing on the channel, responded to the suggestion by saying “Well, obviously not,” and Express.co.uk reported that she referenced Meghan’s long-running estrangement from her father and siblings as part of her critique.
In the same segment, Ms Krakue questioned whether the reports about Meghan and Mr Brooklyn Beckham were credible, describing “insider scoops” as often “dubious” while noting there had previously been a relationship between the Sussexes and the Beckhams after Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding. She also alleged that the relationship later soured amid claims the Sussexes suspected leaks, before they “cut off that relationship,” according to the report.
Ms Krakue warned Mr Beckham against fuelling further headlines about his personal life, saying it would be a “mistake to entertain any more media around his family”, and argued that David and Victoria Beckham were experienced at handling press attention. The discussion followed reporting that Mr Beckham, 26, had posted a message on Instagram in January distancing himself from his family.
The latest comments come as Meghan continues to attract intense scrutiny in the UK media spotlight, with the Duchess’ public appearances and reported associations frequently becoming flashpoints in wider debates about the Sussexes and their relationship with high-profile British families.
