Netflix ‘not planning’ third season of Meghan Markle show as experts cite poor viewership
Meghan Markle’s prospects in Hollywood have come under renewed scrutiny after a report claimed Netflix is not moving forward with a third season of her lifestyle series With Love, Meghan.
The Express reported that the streaming platform has “no plans” to renew With Love, Meghan for a third series, with sources suggesting seasonal specials could be considered instead. The report also said the Sussexes’ Netflix agreement had previously been downgraded to a “first-look” deal.
According to the report, a spokesperson for the Duchess of Sussex did not comment on the claim, but sources close to her said she intends to focus on her lifestyle brand As Ever and expand her social media activity. Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich told Fox News the show lacked a “USP” and argued that “authenticity and relatability are critical” in the lifestyle space.
Royal expert Helena Chard also suggested the programme’s reception played a role, adding that insiders believed the decision was linked to “dismal ratings” and citing Netflix data which placed the second series outside the top 1,000 most-watched titles between July and December 2025. The renewed discussion comes after Meghan Markle’s co-stars dish on her after comeback in separate reporting on how the Duchess has been perceived during her post-royal career.
The figures referenced in the report said the series ranked 1,124th for the second half of 2025 with two million views, while a festive special landed at 1,022 with 2.4 million views. Any next steps for the show or potential specials have not been confirmed by Netflix.
