Sean “Diddy” Combs reportedly tried to get a presidential pardon by sending a letter to former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson, asking him to personally deliver it to U.S. President Donald Trump. According to sources cited by The Sun, Tyson handed the letter to Trump during a visit to the White House in November.
President Trump later confirmed that Combs had asked for a pardon through a letter, but said he is not considering granting one. He did not explain how he received the request. A White House spokesperson also stated that reports about a possible pardon are inaccurate and stressed that Trump alone decides on pardons.
Combs is currently serving a four-year prison sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Sources claim Tyson was approached by someone close to Combs, given the letter, and asked to pass it along. Tyson reportedly felt nervous but agreed to do it.
Tyson has publicly said in the past that he wished Combs “all the best.” His representatives have not commented on the situation.
Combs’ legal team has filed an appeal, and he is also facing new sexual assault allegations related to an incident reported in 2020. Despite the pardon request, Trump has made it clear that no clemency is planned.
