Pop icon Britney Spears recently revealed that she will “never” again perform in the United States in a post shared to Instagram on Thursday via The Hollywood Reporter.
The Grammy winner, who has not toured since 2018 recently shared the news alongside a photo of herself sitting on stage next to a white piano. In the post’s caption, she wrote that she will not return to the stage in the U.S. due to “sensitive” matters.
“I will never perform in the U.S. again because of extremely sensitive reasons,” Spears wrote. “But I hope to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair, in a bun, performing with my son … in the UK and Australia very soon. He’s a huge star, and I’m so humbled to be in his presence!!! Godspeed, little man!!!”
Earlier in the caption, Spears stated that she wanted to give the piano to one of her sons, although she did not specify which one. She shares two children, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden, 19, with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Spears also reflected on posting videos of herself dancing on Instagram, explaining that the dances “heal things in my body that people have no idea about.”
“Yup and it’s embarrassing sometimes … but I walked through the fire to save my life,” the singer wrote.
Spears did not share any details about upcoming shows or concerts in the United Kingdom or Australia.
The “…Baby One More Time” singer, who is one of the best-selling artists in music history, last performed in the U.S. in October 2018 when she concluded her Piece of Me Tour in Austin. Spears was scheduled to open her second Las Vegas residency, entitled Domination, in 2019, but postponed the shows before largely stepping away from music.
