Aubrey O’Day says she is focused on forgiving herself, but she is not concerned with forgiving Sean Diddy Combs. In a recent interview with CBS News, the former Danity Kane member said forgiveness is not the most important issue. Instead, she believes Combs must face his own actions and work on himself.
O’Day explained that the hardest part of her healing process was forgiving herself. She said she had to come to terms with how she once confused abuse, attention, and validation with love. Understanding that those things are not the same helped her begin to heal and move forward.
She also said she does not believe justice has fully been served yet and wants to use her voice to help others who feel unheard. O’Day shared that she still feels she has not been able to fully live her purpose, which she now sees as speaking up for people who do not have a platform.
O’Day appeared in the Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which includes a witness affidavit alleging she was sexually assaulted while heavily intoxicated. O’Day has said she does not remember the incident and remains unsure of what happened. Combs has denied the allegations.
