Oasis has announced that a film will be produced in conjunction with their reunion tour. The movie will be created and produced by Steven Knight, known for his work on Peaky Blinders, and directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, who previously directed the 2012 LCD Soundsystem concert film, Shut Up and Play the Hits.
The film will be distributed by Sony Music Vision, with Krista Wegener leading global sales for the project. At this time, the film does not have a title or a release date, and it remains unclear what format the project will take or whether it will be classified as a documentary.
The announcement also stated that no release date has been set for the film, and no additional information will be released in the immediate future.
Besides producing and creating “Peaky Blinders,” Knight also wrote the recent Maria Callas biopic “Maria” starring Angelina Jolie, David Cronenberg’s “Eastern Promises” and Stephen Frears’ “Dirty Pretty Things” and produced, directed and wrote “Locke,” starring Tom Hardy.
The Oasis tour began July 4th in Cardiff and is scheduled to run through November. Oasis wrapped the U.K. leg of their 2025 reunion tour with a pair of shows in London over the weekend. However, frontman Liam Gallagher left the stage Sunday night, September 29th, with the suggestion that there might be more in store for 2026.
Before launching into their final tune of the night, “Champagne Supernova,” Gallagher issued a slew of thank yous, ending with one for the fans. He said, “Most of all, I wanna thank you lot for keeping the faith and putting this band back on the map.” He then added, “See you next year!”
Oasis have been very quiet about what they plan to do after their wildly successful reunion tour wraps later this year. Back in August, Noel Gallagher skirted the subject entirely. While the guitarist and songwriter appeared thrilled with how the run was going — and even complimented his brother, Liam — when he was asked about what might be next for the band, Gallagher quickly quipped, “All right, let’s talk about football.”
