Adam Sandler is keeping things simple when it comes to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s engagement.
Even though he’s been married to Jackie Sandler for more than 22 years, Adam admitted he’s “not an advice giver” to his Happy Gilmore 2 costar and the Grammy winner. At the Sept. 29 New York Film Festival premiere of Netflix’s Jay Kelly, he said Travis and Taylor are already in a good place.
“He loves her more than anything, just like I love my wife more than anything,” Adam shared. For him, the key to any relationship is being happy together and being yourself, which he believes both couples have found.
Adam also revealed just how much his family enjoys seeing Travis and Taylor together. He told Travis that whenever Taylor laughs with him, his whole family celebrates. The Sandlers have been big fans of Taylor for years, with Adam recalling how his daughters Sadie and Sunny grew up listening to her music on repeat. He praised her lyrics, melodies, and the way she inspires young girls, women, and men alike.
As for Travis, his admiration for Taylor goes back before their romance. In August 2023, Chiefs teammate Marquez Valdes-Scantling exposed Travis’ crush in a team TikTok, calling out “Taylor Swift” before Travis could even answer. At the time, the two were secretly dating. He was also one of the many celebrities to attend Taylor’s record-breaking Eras Tour.
Their love story feels different for Taylor, whose past relationships were mostly with actors and musicians. Being with Travis, a fun-loving and confident NFL star with a two-year $34.25 million contract extension, is a great change from her past and shows why fans are so captivated by the couple.
