Sean “Diddy” Combs, 55, may be getting ready to trade the recording studio for the courtroom. After narrowly avoiding the most serious charges in his latest high-profile legal scandal, insiders say the music mogul has started to believe he has a real future in law.
According to sources, Diddy found his time in court eye-opening and even exciting. One insider claimed he thinks his own strategy during the trial played a big role in weakening the case against him. That experience has reportedly left him convinced that he has what it takes to succeed as a legal mind.
“He thinks he’s got a legal mind,” the insider explained. “He’s convinced that his approach helped dismantle the case.”
Now, instead of focusing only on producing music and running Bad Boy Records, Combs is said to be exploring the possibility of going to law school. The reports come as Kim Kardashian continues her well-publicized journey in California’s legal apprenticeship program. Diddy, however, is reportedly aiming higher, with talk of a law school diploma and all the recognition that comes with it.
While a representative for Combs has denied these claims, others close to him suggest that his ambitions are serious. “He wants the degree, the title, and the power that comes with it,” another source said.
Those around him believe Diddy doesn’t simply want to avoid trouble with the law in the future. Instead, he wants to gain control over it. As one insider put it: “Diddy doesn’t just want to beat the system. He wants to own it.”
