Britney Spears is reportedly upset and “blindsided” by news that her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, is releasing a tell-all memoir. The book, titled You Thought You Knew, is set to detail their 2004–2007 marriage, her mental health struggles, and her 13-year conservatorship.
According to #ShuterScoop, Spears is “furious and terrified” about what the memoir might reveal. A close friend claims she’s especially frustrated because Federline “said nothing when she was paying his bills” but is now speaking out after her financial support ended.
Spears made her final child support payment to Federline in November 2024, when their youngest son, Jayden James, turned 18 and graduated high school. The two also share an older son, Sean Preston.
The pop star had hoped she was moving forward after the success of her own 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, but friends say she now feels “back on defense.” One source called the book “about money and relevance,” not truth, and revealed that Spears is considering legal action. Kevin Federline’s You Thought You Knew is scheduled for release on October 21.
