Travis Kelce recently shared why he loves Taylor Swift so much, and it has a lot to do with how much she reminds him of his mom, Donna Kelce.
In a new interview with GQ, the Kansas City Chiefs star said Taylor and his mother have similar qualities: kindness, genuineness, making everyone feel welcome, showing love and support no matter what, and a strong work ethic. He recalled watching his mom work her way up from a bank teller to a top position at KeyBank, and said Taylor has that same drive, setting big goals, exceeding expectations, and inspiring the world.
Kelce also talked about the early days of their relationship, calling it “so organic.” They grew close thanks to the people around them and found they shared the same values, like appreciating others and enjoying life. “We are two fun-loving people who have the morals to appreciate everyone for who they are,” he said. “It kind of just took off.”
When comparing their careers, Kelce admitted Taylor’s schedule is even tougher than his, with her intense nightly Eras Tour performances being harder on her body than his once-a-week football games.
He also spoke about life beyond football, saying he’s explored new opportunities like acting, but admitted his performance on the field over the past two years hasn’t met his own standards. He’s determined to turn that around in the upcoming season.
