Donald Trump recently shared his thoughts on whether he would pardon Sean “Diddy” Combs and while he didn’t seem too interested, he also didn’t say no.
Trump was interviewed on Newsmax’s show “Finnerty” on Friday. During the chat, host Rob Finnerty asked if he would consider giving Diddy a pardon. Diddy was recently found guilty of two counts under the Mann Act, which involves taking someone across state lines for prostitution. He was cleared of more serious charges like racketeering and sex trafficking.
Trump said he used to be “very friendly” with Diddy and they got along well. He called Diddy “a nice guy.” But he also pointed out that when he ran for president, Diddy became “very hostile” toward him. Trump admitted that Diddy’s attitude might affect his decision, saying:
“That could cloud our judgment.”
So, while Trump didn’t commit to a pardon, he also didn’t fully rule it out. Earlier this week, TMZ reported that Trump’s team has spoken with Diddy’s lawyers about a possible pardon. But it may depend on what Judge Arun Subramanian decides about Diddy’s request for bail. The judge is also expected to sentence Diddy on October 3.
