After the verdict in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial, one of the male escorts allegedly hired for his so-called “freak offs” has come forward to apologize to Cassie Ventura.
The escort, identified in court as “Don,” spoke to PEOPLE shortly after a Manhattan jury found Combs, 55, not guilty of the most serious charges like sex trafficking and racketeering, but did convict him on lesser charges related to prostitution.
Don said he has not spoken to Cassie since the two or three times they were together at these parties back in 2016. If he could speak to her now, he would say he is truly sorry for being part of what he knows she sees as one of the worst times of her life. He wishes he had understood what was really happening so he could have chosen not to be involved.
Don also said he would apologize to another of Combs’ ex-girlfriends, who testified in court using the name “Jane.” Don claims he was hired for several sex parties involving her from 2021 to 2024.
“To Cassie and Jane, I would say I am sorry,” Don shared. “I am a son, a brother, and I have many women in my life. This whole case has made me think about how I might have hurt someone without realizing it. I wish there had been a chance to talk back then. Maybe I could have refused to take part and helped them instead.”
Both Cassie and Jane testified that Combs forced them, using threats and blackmail, into drug-fueled sex parties with male escorts. Combs called these parties “freak offs” or “hotel nights.” He has said all of the sexual activity was consensual.
Don told PEOPLE he never personally saw Combs harm Cassie or Jane but does not question their stories. “There is no way to take away from what those women went through,” he said. Even though they seemed willing around him, he understands someone might hide how they really feel to please a partner.
