Diddy has been found guilty on two of five counts in his federal criminal trial in NYC via TMZ. However, what happens to him now?
Shortly after the jury’s verdict was announced in court, Judge Arun Subramanian expressed his gratitude to the jury for their service and dismissed them. Diddy’s defense attorney, Marc Agnifilo, urged the judge to allow his client to be released pending sentencing, particularly since he has been acquitted of the most serious charges.
The judge requested briefs from both the prosecution and defense teams regarding release pending sentencing. Judge Subramanian indicated that he could rule on whether to keep Diddy in custody until his sentencing or to grant him release under certain conditions. A sentencing hearing has yet to be scheduled.
The court session was then adjourned, with plans to reconvene later this afternoon.
Before Diddy left the courtroom on his way back to his cell, he dropped down to his knees, lowered his head and appeared to pray. He then rose and began clapping in the direction of the gallery, and spectators applauded and cheered.
Diddy faces up to 10 years in prison for each of the two counts he’s convicted of.
He’s only been convicted on counts 3 and 5 … which are both transportation for purpose of prostitution AKA the Mann Act. He faces a maximum sentence of 10 years for each of those counts.
