50 Cent is calling out Diddy’s legal team for how they’ve managed his sex trafficking trial. He especially went after Diddy’s lawyer Marc Agnifilo, criticizing his work during the closing statements.
On Instagram, 50 said the lawyers did a terrible job and joked that he could have done better himself. He even questioned how much Diddy paid them. In another post, which he later deleted, 50 Cent called Agnifilo the “worst lawyer” and blamed him for Diddy possibly facing 20 years in prison.
Earlier, 50 Cent had suggested Diddy should hire A$AP Rocky’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina. He said if Diddy got Tacopina on his side, he might win the case, though it would cost a lot.
Tacopina later revealed Diddy did reach out to him before the trial started. However, he turned down the case, partly because he’s close with JAY-Z and Roc Nation. Tacopina explained that he sees them as family and didn’t think they would support him representing Diddy.
He also downplayed the idea that JAY-Z and Diddy were close friends, saying lots of people just want photos with Diddy at parties.
In the end, Diddy brought on Brian Steel, who became well-known last year for representing Young Thug in his RICO case. That case ended with Young Thug getting a plea deal and being released from jail.
“I was asked to take a look at the case, that’s another case I said I was not interested in.”
“I represent Roc Nation; a lot of people in Roc I’m very close with. Jay and [Roc Nation president] Desiree Perez, who’s the most amazing, like bomb of a boss. Jay is amazing. You know, Jay Brown, all those people are just, like, they really are special, special people. That’s sort of family to me and I don’t think they see eye-to-eye with P. Diddy.”
Tacopina also dismissed the idea that JAY-Z and Diddy were close: “Everyone wants a picture with P. Diddy, at one time or another, when they went to a party.”
