There’s been some drama between Brooklyn Beckham’s family and his wife Nicola Peltz’s family. Nicola’s side has reportedly accused David and Victoria Beckham of being “tight with money” and not helping Brooklyn enough.
Brooklyn and Nicola live in a £11 million house in Hollywood, but reports say Nicola mostly owns it. David and Victoria are said to be worried that their son is stuck in this situation, especially because of a prenup that protects Nicola’s wealthy family her dad, Nelson Peltz, is worth about $1.6 billion.
A source told The Sun that David and Victoria worked hard to earn their money and didn’t want to just hand over millions to their son. They believe their children should learn the value of money. On the other hand, the Peltz family reportedly makes sure Nicola is always financially secure.
It’s believed most of the house was paid for with money from Nicola’s trust fund, which her dad had to approve. Brooklyn and Nicola also added some of their own savings. Nicola’s family is said to think the Beckhams cut off their kids financially once they turn 18, which they don’t agree with.
A friend of the Beckhams said David and Victoria will always help Brooklyn if he really needs it, but they won’t spoil him. They helped him in the beginning when he moved out on his own, but they want their kids to earn what they get.
Someone also told The Mirror that it’s unfair to turn Brooklyn and Nicola’s home purchase into something negative. Brooklyn went to school in Los Angeles for a few years and feels at home there.
There have also been signs of family tension. Brooklyn and Nicola didn’t attend David’s 50th birthday party, and Brooklyn didn’t post anything for Father’s Day, even though David shared a touching message for all his kids, saying he would always be there for them.
