Oprah Winfrey and Bishop T.D. Jakes have taken steps to distance themselves from rumors suggesting that they attended some of Diddy’s controversial parties. As the music mogul faces a trial for s*x trafficking and racketeering, which includes testimonies about his alleged extravagant parties, Winfrey and Jakes addressed the situation on Thursday, June 30th, during the Good Soil Forum in Dallas via Complex.
Winfrey said that she’s “never been near a Puff party,” as heard in the clip below. “And anybody who knows me knows if there is a party, I am the first one out,” she added.
Jakes interjected and state that he once stopped by a Diddy party, albeit briefly, to wish the host a “happy birthday” and left after 30 minutes.
The bishop added that out of the rumor that he’d been to the parties were false allegations that he and Diddy had a “love affair.”
“You too?” Winfrey asked.
“Yes!” Jakes said. “I am almost 70 years old, what do I look like? And I am a grandfather. What do I look like at this late date?”
Bishop T.D. Jakes, who stepped down from from Potter’s House megachurch in April, shut down the Diddy accusations twice before: once during a 2023 sermon, and with a subpoena about misinformation being spread on YouTube.
Earlier this month, a Jane Doe–who engaged in years of freak-offs with the Bad Boy Entertainment founder–testified during the trial that Diddy would share a list of his favorite sermons, some of them being from Jakes.
The latest development in the Diddy trial involves Brendan Paul, who is alleged to be the music mogul’s “drug mule.” Paul was arrested last year around the same time that Diddy’s homes in Miami and Los Angeles were raided. During his testimony on Friday, June 20th, he stated that he used to obtain erectile dysfunction medication for Diddy.
