King Charles still doesn’t seem ready to give Prince Andrew a public role in the Royal Family again. After Andrew was seen with the family on Easter Sunday, many people thought he might also show up at Trooping the Colour on June 14 or the Order of the Garter event on June 16. But now it’s clear, that didn’t happen.
Prince Andrew was not at Trooping the Colour, which is the King’s yearly birthday parade. His daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, didn’t attend either. Andrew also didn’t take part in the public part of Garter Day, but he wasn’t completely left out.
According to the Express, Andrew was invited to the private lunch and investiture ceremony but was not allowed to join the royal procession. A royal source said this setup was a compromise, meaning both sides agreed to keep things more private.
This is now the fourth year in a row that Prince Andrew has missed the Garter Day procession. Even though he’s not included in public royal duties, he still holds some honors. He became a Knight of the Garter in 2006 and was made a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order in 2011.
