Kanye West and his wife, Bianca Censori, are taking legal action against a dentist they claim caused the rapper to develop an addiction to nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas. Despite recent breakup rumors, the couple appears united and has formally accused Dr. Thomas Connelly of medical malpractice in a legal notice sent by their lawyers.
According to the document, which E! News obtained on May 1, West received cosmetic dental treatment from Dr. Connelly between 2024 and 2025. During that time, the dentist allegedly gave Kanye large and unnecessary amounts of nitrous oxide, even delivering oversized tanks to his home. The letter also claims Connelly taught West how to use the gas on his own and kept supplying it even after Kanye showed signs of harmful side effects, like strange behavior and neurological symptoms.
West’s lawyers further accuse the dentist of giving him a substance similar to propofol, a powerful sedative, and then releasing him without checking his condition. They say these actions caused Kanye serious mental and physical harm, including brain damage and emotional trauma, and led to him needing urgent medical care.
The lawsuit also shows the effect on Bianca Censori. She reportedly had to take care of Kanye during this difficult time and was denied the support and normal relationship she expected from her marriage. Her lawyers say she has suffered emotionally and personally as a result of the situation.
West and Censori’s team claim the damage is ongoing, as Kanye continues to recover and rebuild both his health and career. E! News has reached out to Dr. Connelly for a response but has not received one yet.
