Hey there, music fans! Let’s dive into the latest buzz surrounding Oasis’s much-anticipated 2025 reunion tour.

Oasis has decided to remove the song “Hello” from their upcoming tour setlist. This track, which opened their 1995 album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?,” incorporates lyrics and a melody from Gary Glitter’s 1973 hit “Hello, Hello, I’m Back Again.” Given Glitter’s criminal convictions, the band deemed it inappropriate to perform the song during their reunion concerts.

Back in 1999, Oasis faced legal action for using elements of Glitter’s song without proper credit. This resulted in Glitter and his producer, Mike Leander, receiving co-writing credits and royalties from “Hello.” Reports indicate that Glitter has earned significant sums from these royalties over the years.

The Sun quotes an Oasis source saying: “The lyrics of the song would obviously have been a good fit for the reunion tour but the band have decided to leave it in the past. It would be inappropriate to play it given its connotations to Glitter and his convictions.”

However, when a fan on social media asked, Liam Gallagher responded. He wrote: “We’ll be playing Hello, trust me.”

Glitter, in his 1970s heyday one of the UK’s biggest pop stars, was jailed for 16 years in 2015 for abusing three girls between 1975 and 1980. He was previously jailed in Vietnam for similar crimes.

The decision to drop “Hello” has sparked mixed reactions among fans. Some support the move, acknowledging the importance of distancing the band’s work from Glitter’s tainted legacy. Others express disappointment, noting that “Hello” was a staple in Oasis’s live performances and a fan favorite.

Despite this change, anticipation for the reunion tour remains high. Fans are eager to see Liam and Noel Gallagher share the stage once again, performing classics from their extensive catalog.
