Patrick Mahomes is a fan of pop icon Taylor Swift. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback recently said during a press conference in New Orleans on Tuesday, February 4th that he has built a “great” friendship with Taylor Swift, 35, since she began dating his teammate Travis Kelce via PEOPLE.
“Taylor being at all the games has been awesome,” Patrick said at the conference ahead of the Chiefs upcoming Super Bowl game, per KMBC 9 News.
“…I just know Taylor better now and I feel like I’ve built a great friendship with her. And my wife and Taylor have a built a friendship as well,” he added of his wife Brittany Mahomes.
Patrick also talked about the impact Swift attending games has on younger generations who may not have been football fans before including his own daughter.
“It’s been awesome to showcase her bringing light to the sport that I love and getting little girls like my daughter into it and watching the game,” he said, per the outlet. “…So it’s just cool to see how football can bring people together from every aspect of life.”
Swift has showed up at numerous Chiefs games to support her boyfriend Kelce. It is thought she will also be at the team’s Super Bowl game as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, February 9th.
Patrick’s comments about his friendship with Swift come a day after he praised the singer in another press conference ahead of the Super Bowl, which will be held at the Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans.
“Taylor Swift is the best,” he said, adding that has merchandise from the star. “I’ve got the top,” he said.
