Rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has said he plans to reach out to former President Donald Trump to ask him not to pardon Sean “Diddy” Combs if the music mogul is found guilty in his ongoing federal case involving sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
When asked on Friday about the possibility of a pardon, Trump responded that he hasn’t followed the case closely but would consider it if he believed someone was being treated unfairly. He said whether the person liked him or not wouldn’t affect his decision.
50 Cent, who has been critical of Combs, posted on Instagram saying that Combs had made negative comments about Trump in the past and that he would personally reach out to let Trump know how he feels. He later added that Trump doesn’t take disrespect lightly and that while Trump might consider pardoning someone who was truly mistreated, that wouldn’t apply to “Puffy Daddy.”
Meanwhile, Suge Knight, former CEO of Death Row Records, added to the speculation by suggesting Combs could end up being pardoned. Knight said he believes Combs has some government connections and might get some leniency if convicted, especially since it’s a federal case.
Trump recently made headlines for pardoning reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were serving time for financial crimes. According to their daughter Savannah, Trump told her during a phone call, “you guys don’t look like terrorists.”
