Unreleased Blur, Pulp On ‘Britpop At The BBC’ Compilation
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The BBC are continuing its celebrations of the twentieth anniversary of Britpop with a new compilation featuring previously-unreleased performances from some of the greatest British bands of the 1990s.

Mark your calendars: on July 14, Britpop At The BBC, an amazing three-disc collection, will be released. The first disc will be devoted to Radio 1’s The Evening Sessions, with fourteen previously-unreleased tracks that were performed live on the show from 1993 to 1997.

The other two discs contain 44 of the best singles of the era chosen by The Evening Sessions‘ presenters, Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley. Writing on the album’s sleevenotes, Lamacq says, ‘You’ll find a whole array of bands; the miscreants and mavericks who made Britpop what it was.’ And, it’s certainly good to see some of the unsung bands, like the Auteurs and the Divine Comedy, go up against Oasis and Blur. Read below for the complete tracklisting.
