Paul McCartney is known by the fans for his time with The Beatles. There are numerous incidents involving The Queen coming to light again, and one such news caught our attention tonight. Can you imagine The Monarch turning down a musical performance to watch Twin Peaks? Well, that’s exactly what happened.
Twin Peaks composer Angelo Badalamenti shared a story that McCartney told him. He said that Paul was invited to play as part of a private celebration for The Longest Living Monarch. The event was to happen at Abbey Road Studios.
According to McCartney, he met The Queen and said it was a pleasure and an honour to play for her, but she instead said that it was five to eight and she has to watch Twin Peaks. David Lynch’s cult classic TV show impressed her more than a live performance by the musician. It tells her how she enjoyed different things than just anything grandeur.
Angelo also shared a story about the coronation situation. He said that as it was approaching, everyone had to write an essay about the Queen. The Beatles star described her as “our lovely young Queen” and it helped him win in his division. I was nervous when they called out my name because I was on the stage for the first time in my life. I said some simple words to avoid any mishap.
Elton John paid tribute to the Monarch during his performance in Toronto last night. One can agree that The Queen left a lasting impression on everyone.
