Oasis star Noel Gallagher has finally revealed the price that would make him “properly consider” an Oasis reunion with his brother Liam.
Noel Gallagher talks about the potential reunion
The music star, who has gone on to have a career with band High Flying Birds, said if he was offered £8 million then he’d weigh up getting the 90s band back together.
Appearing on Radio X, Noel spoke about the new album Council Skies from his band High Flying Birds, before radio presenter Johnny Vaughan asked him if he would want to get Oasis back together given the chance.
Vaughan asked Noel:
“A while ago you gave me that chance. You said, ‘If you turn up to my house with eight million quid cash in an Adidas bag, I’d put them back together.’
“If I was the middleman in that, we still up for that?”
Gallagher responded:
“I would consider it… I would properly consider it, yeah.”
The subject of the Champagne Supernova hitmakers getting back together has been discussed heavily since the band split in 2009 and it’s a question that Noel is regularly quizzed about.
He revealed:
“It used to really annoy me when I first started and now it’s just, it’s just whatever… I’m fascinated with people asking the same question and getting the same answer, but the thing that is ongoing and will never get old is how the music just keeps appealing to another generation of fans.
“I was up at the Etihad for the Real Madrid game and two young guys, only the same ages as my kid, like 13, 14, kinda leapt out of this box and were like ‘Oh my God’.
The former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher recently stated that he doesn’t have a way to contact his estranged sibling after Noel’s latest comments. The former Oasis frontman is being encouraged to reach out to his estranged sibling and former bandmate after a recent interview Noel gave in which claimed he knew how to contact him.
Meanwhile, his brother Noel Gallagher recently talked about the prospect of an Oasis reunion in the future. The beef between the Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel Gallagher is no secret. The split of Oasis certainly shocked the fans back in the day. In 2009, the band parted ways immediately following a backstage tiff in Paris.
Tension had been brewing in the time building up to their scheduled performance at Rock en Seine festival. The weekend prior, Oasis pulled out of headlining V Festival because Liam Gallagher was suffering from laryngitis, and rumors floated about their tumultuous relationship. It was also recently noted that Liam Gallagher has teased starting a new band with his brother Noel Gallagher and his son in a new tweet. This would definitely excite fans.
