Happy Mondays‘ Bez doesn’t see a reunion coming, but he told NME that singer Shaun Ryder has recorded a track with Oasis icon Noel Gallagher that may end up being Noel’s biggest hit since Oasis.
“No. I don’t think we’ll ever do any new music because we’ve got that thing like Oasis with a brotherly relationship going on [between Shaun and his brother bandmate Paul Ryder] so for that reason, I don’t think they’ll be any new Mondays music any time soon.”
He then discussed Ryder’s solo album, featuring a potential massive hit with Noel Gallagher.
“There’s a track that he and Noel Gallagher have done together that’s going to be big. It’s going to be Number One. It’s two Manchester legends singing together and it sounds amazing.”
Noel Gallagher has launched a new film project with his brother Liam Gallagher, and he hasn’t been able to tour recently due to the pandemic. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ last major North American tour was opening for The Smashing Pumpkins in summer 2019.
Noel has denied calls for an Oasis reunion, though he did just revealed he regrets what happened at the final Oasis show in 2009 with the band’s very ugly breakup.
