While rock stars, musicians, and famous entertainers, in general, are always going to be known for frivolous purchases. However, in most cases, at least once, those entertainers get some use out of that very purchase. In the case of iconic Oasis bandmate Noel Gallagher, he did not get to enjoy the expensive 1967 MK2 Two-Door Drophead Jaguar because, according to the man himself, he ”forgot’ he had the car when he made the purchase back in 1997.
According to Gallagher and courtesy of Autoevolution: “I thought when I became a full-blown rock star, I was gonna need a car. I’d heard about this firm that buy old vintage car chassis and put a modern car inside them. So I got a Mark 2 Jaguar from 1967, the year I was born. But they take about 18 months to two years to build, so I thought I’ll easily will have learned to drive in two years.”
However, according to the British media outlet, the Sun, the car has since been sold and Gallagher made a sizable profit on the vehicle. The Jaguar was sold to an anonymous buyer for £125,000 ($151,000). This meant the singer made a profit of £15,000 ($18,100)
According to the firm in question, Hurst Park Automobiles, “We can’t disclose any further information about who has bought the car, or how much it was for.”
In other news concerning Noel’s equally controversial brother, Liam Gallagher, according to Far Out Magazine, during an interview conducted with the Oasis great, Gallagher would proclaim how the legendary punk rock album, ‘Never Mind the Bollacks’ by The Sex Pistols is Gallagher’s pick for the ‘most powerful album of all time’. Credit to the outlet for the below.
“The most powerful song I’ve ever heard from a band,” the singer who grows sideburns on a whim mused, “It’s got to be the Sex Pistols. Anything off Never Mind the Bollocks will do me. I think that still hasn’t been touched. You consider the day and age with all this technology going on, but they were doing it pretty simple, man, and still the aggression and the passion. No one has ever touched that record.”
