Sadly, it looks like Morrissey may be canceling his tour. The news of this comes just a bit after canceling his LA show, which has left a lot of people in the dismay of a lot of different emotions.
Some fans were sad about the cancelation, while others were angry, and even further – some fans were downright confused about what was going on. Reddit has displayed all of these emotions as a recent thread has been asking what is going on with these shows?
The post starts with a statement from Morrissey stating that more news would be coming soon. Albeit, cryptic, fans tried to iron it out. The original poster says: “I really, really hope that refers to announcements about rescheduling the Greek, and isn’t foreshadowing an announcement about the rest of the tour.. What do you guys think?”
A fan would chime in: “Assuming they reschedule the show I wonder how they’ll do it without messing up the schedule for the other ones…kinda wish they just let us get a refund lol Y’all just downvote everything 😂 love it.”
From here, is where we see fans diving deeper into what may be going on.
A poster said: “He has that throat cancer.. He talked about it in his Larry King interview.”
Then, fans started to correct one-another, as-is typical for social media, of course.
Another person said: “Yeah wasn’t that 2016 or something? I mean I think he said they may have to scrape again, but I didn’t take anything as “I always forever have cancer.”‘
This then led to: “I remember him saying it’s a non fatal one.. Just a growth that needs scraping. Sounded like nuisance value.”
Then, a fan would pull up, word for word, what Morrissey said: ‘”Barrett’s cancer, it’s in the esophagus,” Morrissey said of his diagnosis. “They screen it occasionally and I have medication, but I’m OK. Lots of people have it and they fade away, lots of people have it and they don’t fade away.”. To me it sounds like he had cells scraped, and it has to be monitored for recurrence. Not like it’s just a state of “he always is battling cancer.”‘
We will see what happens next.
