King Charles III has star-studded guest list for his Coronation ceremony in Westminster Abbey via Deadline. Emma Thompson, Judi Dench, and Maggie Smith were among the British acting royalty in attendance. Stephen Fry and Joanna Lumley were also present.
Guests from the world of music included Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, both of whom will perform at a Coronation concert on Sunday.
Political figures on the guest list included First Lady Jill Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron. John Kerry, the U.S. special presidential envoy for climate, was also present. Every living British Prime Minister gathered to celebrate King Charles. This included Tony Blair, Boris Johnson, and current PM Rishi Sunak.
Charles and Camilla were crowned as King and Queen in a ceremony at Westminster Abbey, which was attended by royals, political leaders and celebrities. It was reported that they then led a procession back to Buckingham Palace, where they were joined by senior royals on the balcony to wave at crowds and watch a flypast.
Prince Harry also attended the Coronation service but the BBC reported he was not invited to appear on the balcony. Later, he was reportedly spotted at Heathrow Airport .
Thousands of people joined the celebrations in London, lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the new King and Queen.
Meanwhile, 52 people were arrested during the Coronation, including the leader of prominent anti-monarchy group Republic Anti-monarchy protests also took place outside London in Cardiff, Glasgow and Edinburgh
It has been noted that the celebrations will continue for the long weekend, with the Big Lunch event and Coronation concert tomorrow, followed by The Big Help Out on Monday.
