Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has shot down rumors that he’ll replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in a new GQ magazine interview. He said any reports to the contrary are “purely a press tour rumor.”
“I say something, and then occasionally I get bored of answering that way so I say something different, and that sets it off again,” Radcliffe said about fueling rumors. “I should just never open my mouth.”
Radcliffe also said, “I just don’t ever want to get locked into something that I am not sure I will be able to love the same amount the whole time.”
He told EW in March, “Wolverine is short, so every so often they’re like, ‘Who’s a short actor?’ There’s never been any actual truth to it.”
“Every so often I get bored of answering the questions sensibly, so I just make a joke like I did the other day and that sort of has reignited the rumors of it, but there’s nothing going on.”
Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, set for release in 2024, 7 years after Wolverine was killed off in the 2017 classic Logan. Radcliffe appeared as the villain in The Lost City earlier this year.
