It has come to light via Daily Mail that the age difference between Matt Smith and his latest romantic companion is 16 years.
The 40-year-old ex-Doctor Who star was spotted in a clinch with actress Emma Laird, 24, outside a pub near his North London home last week. It came after they had spent hours chatting and laughing together, and at one point they were seen gazing into one another’s eyes as they drank and smoked at a picnic table.
And at around midnight, the pair headed off into the evening together. An onlooker said:
”They were both looking in great spirits, enjoying several drinks al fresco until the late hours. They seemed to have great chemistry, and once the lights were switched off, they disappeared together.”
Emma is the latest in a string of stunning women to be linked to Smith, who also played Prince Philip in The Crown.
He has been largely single since he split from Mamma Mia actress Lily James in December 2019 after more than five years together, though they have remained friends. Before that he dated several famous women including Billie Piper, Brazilian actress Mayana Moura and model Daisy Lowe.
Meanwhile, Ms Laird’s star is on the rise, as she can be seen in the Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room, and in Kenneth Branagh’s A Haunting In Venice, her feature film debut. The former model first came to prominence as an actress in American TV drama Mayor Of Kingstown, where she played the key role of an escort employed by the Russian mafia.
