Damon Albarn has worked with some of the best artists of today and yesterday. The singer of the Gorillaz and Blur has been around the block enough to know true talent when he sees it or works with it. That’s why he’s now opened up about working with Bad Bunny.
Damon Albarn spoke about breaking down cultural and language barriers in music. He stated how one of the best examples of that is Bad Bunny.
Damon said: “I could do the, “Oi, oi,” bit. It’s quite hard to sing in another language. I would do it at some point, but on this occasion we only had an afternoon really and it all came together super quick. I actually afterwards tried to do loads of different things of it and change it but actually what we did in that afternoon was the best version of it. But it’s fantastic. He’s such a superstar these days. I don’t really work in those parameters, but I can see why he’s so successful because he truly does things his own way, you know?”
After giving high praises to Bad Bunny, Damon went on to say how he loves that the Spanish language has taken the forefront of music.
He said: “I think it’s fantastic that Spanish language music is now the biggest thing.”
Damon has been working on a host of new music along with also touring with The Gorillaz. We will have to see what the star has been working on and with whom as we are sure that Bad Bunny isn’t the only singer that Damon and company have been working with on future music that is set for release within the next few months to a year.
With Bad Bunny being the biggest star on the planet, it’s safe to say that something good is on the way.
