With the much-anticipated reunion tour of Blur announced, Damon Albarn, the band’s frontman and a prominent figure in the Britpop scene, has voiced his belief in the eventual reunion of another iconic group, Oasis. Albarn shared his optimistic prediction during an interview with The Sun, going so far as to reveal that he has even placed a bet on Oasis reuniting.
As reported by Daily Mail, Albarn’s optimism stems from the deep bond shared by the Gallagher brothers as siblings, as he hopes for a reconciliation that would see them perform together once again. He acknowledges that the dynamics between them may have undergone significant changes, particularly in light of Noel Gallagher’s impending divorce, which was revealed earlier this year. These personal developments in their lives could potentially pave the way for an Oasis reunion.
The sensational split of Oasis left their devoted fans devastated, and in the years that followed, the Gallagher brothers engaged in a bitter and toxic feud. Their public disagreements, characterized by insults hurled during interviews and on social media, cast doubt on any prospects of future collaboration. However, Liam Gallagher’s recent social media nudges that an Oasis reunion could possibly be “happening” amidst the 30 year anniversary of ‘Definitely Maybe’ has reignited hope among fans.
Noel Gallagher, on the other hand, isn’t going to let any reunion happen. In a scathing new interview, Noel claimed that a reunion not only will never happen, but he has no interest at all with sharing the stage with his brother, Liam Gallagher no matter the anniversary.
In the interview, Noel also stated that one of the biggest issues is because Liam Gallagher can’t let thing go, which was a bit odd seeing as in the interview, Noel was the one who didn’t want anything to do with Oasis due to past issues.
Can Oasis overcome their differences to once again ignite the same magic that captivated audiences in the past?
