Your Chance to Be Part of a Ground-Breaking Fashion Campaign With K-Swiss

As readers of this site, you likely have some interest in fashion. We’ve written many times before about how important style was (and still is) to the Britpop genre. Not just clothing, but attitude. It’s all about self-expression, whether you choose the laid-back cool of Noel Gallagher or mod-revival dandy of Miles Kane or 90s rocker chic of Justine Frischmann, and so on. Music and fashion just go hand in hand.

If you’re a fashion lover and have an entrepreneurial spirit, footwear giant K-Swiss is offering you the one-in-a-lifetime chance to be a real part of the brand.

Founded in 1966, K-Swiss is one of the most recognizable and influential shoe brands around today. Their classic style of tennis shoe has become a staple on but also off the court — the impeccably chic and minimal designs are at once timeless and modern. They are the kind of trainers you could see on a hip hop mogul, a Noel wannabe, and a London fashionista — totally versatile.

In a new campaign called The Board, K-Swiss is teaming up with stylish musician/DJ/producer Diplo to find 100 creative and connected people to serve on an exclusive decision-making global board for the brand. The chosen 100 will work with Diplo and industry experts on tasks like sneaker design, brand positioning, social media, and more. What the board decides, K-Swiss will do.

Grammy-nominated Diplo, who has worked with M.I.A., Madonna, Snoop, Beyonce, No Doubt, Pharrell, and many others, says of the project, “I was instantly drawn to the K-Swiss brand due to their heritage and longevity… I am excited to be part of ‘The Board,’ to bring young entrepreneurial minds into the process to help build the next chapter at such a respected brand.”

If you think you have what it takes to be part of The Board, you’ve got to prove it. Head over to the application site where you’ll have a chance to show off your creative thinking and social connections. Applications are being accepted from now until April 30, at which time winners will be announced and invited into the members-only site to begin the program. Apply here:

Good luck to all that enter and make sure you let us know on social media if you apply! If you make it to The Board, maybe you could drop some hints for a Classic or Belmont style with a bit of Union Jack flair?
